Mountain Vista Senior Living Community is the only “continuum of care” complex in Wheat Ridge, and one of the few in the Denver metro area that doesn’t require a huge entry fee.
Located off of I-70 and Ward Road, Mountain Vista has great mountain views from just about anywhere on its 15-acre campus, which includes two ponds and a clubhouse. Set up as a non-profit, Mountain Vista puts care before profit.
At Mountain Vista, the choices for seniors include: Independent Living (47 apartments), Assisted Living (47 apartments), Memory Care in Assisted Living (22 apartments), Memory Care in Skilled Nursing (24 rooms), Skilled Nursing (121 beds), and Rehab Care (14 suites).
The Independent Living units at Mountain Vista Senior Living Community are “cottage-style” 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments, with full kitchens, that are grouped in duplexes to six-plexes.
Residents in Independent Living plan and run their own group activities, and in the other areas at Mountain Vista, activities include: live entertainment, arts and crafts, brain exercises, games, and outings.
Non-denominational, Baptist, and Catholic services are held weekly, and physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy services are all available on-site.
Pets are allowed at Mountain Vista Senior Living Community, in Independent Living and Assisted Living.

In Assisted Living and Memory Care Assisted Living at Mountain Vista, there’s a central dining room and open courtyards. Memory Care Skilled Nursing and Skilled Nursing provide all-inclusive care. Rehab Care has all private rooms and bathrooms, with a separate dining room. At Mountain Vista, there’s a general store, exercise classes and worship services.
Regularly Scheduled Activities: In Independent Living, the residents run all of the group activities. In Assisted Living, Memory Care Assisted Living, Memory Care Skilled Nursing, and Skilled Nursing, activities include: live entertainment, brain exercises, arts and crafts, games, Bingo, and outings. In Memory Care Assisted Living and Memory Care Skilled Nursing, all activities are done in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association.
Individual Transportation: Individual transportation can be scheduled.
Group Transportation: There’s group transportation available for shopping on Fridays and for other scheduled outings.
On-Site Services: In Assisted Living, Memory Care Assisted Living, Memory Care Skilled Nursing. and Skilled Nursing, nurse practitioners, doctors, dentists, podiatrists, audiologists, and optometrists come in as needed. A hairdresser comes into Assisted Living and Memory Care Assisted Living.
Pet Policies: Yes, pets are allowed at Mountain Vista. In Independent Living, cats and dogs (up to 45 pounds) are allowed. In Assisted Living, cats and dogs (up to 35 pounds) are allowed. Residents must be able to care for their own pets. In Independent Living there’s a one-time $200 non-refundable pet fee, but no additional monthly charge for pets.

Memory Care Assisted Living opened in 2014. Over the years, renovation has taken place at Mountain Vista, in multiple phases.
Lease Terms: In Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care Assisted Living, the lease terms are month-to-month. The facility or the resident can terminate the lease at any point, with 30 days notice. In Memory Care Skilled Nursing, Skilled Nursing and Rehab Care, there is no lease – care is billed by the day.
Age Restrictions: At Mountain Vista Senior Living Community, residents must be over the age of 55.
