Marycrest Assisted Living is a very unique facility in two regards. First, it’s one of the few assisted living facilities in the Denver metro area that accepts Medicaid and has earned the designation of “deficiency-free” in the Colorado State Health Department’s 2019 survey.
Marycrest is also exceptional in that it has two assisted living facilities, side by side on the same grounds in Northwest Denver (just across Federal Boulevard from Regis University). The Serenity building is for seniors, ages 55 and over. The Harmony building is for residents ages 18-55, and it’s the only assisted living facility of its kind in Colorado for younger adults.
There are 90 units in the Serenity building and 48 units in the Harmony building, for a total of 138 units. Each assisted living building has its own staff and dining rooms, but the residents of Serenity and Harmony often come together for shared activities and outings.
Each unit at Marycrest Assisted Living is a private, 300-square-foot studio, which includes a small kitchen (refrigerator and microwave included) and a large private bath. Lunch and dinner are served “restaurant-style,” with six options available daily, including New Horizons healthy choice meals. Snacks and beverages are available to residents and guests 24-7.
Originally founded by the Sisters of St. Francis, Marycrest Assisted Living remains true to its core values of service and compassion, by offering affordable housing for seniors who can no longer live independently. A Catholic mass is held at Marycrest once a month, as well as weekly rosary services. Every Sunday, group transportation is provided to a local non-denominational service.

Cost: The cost at Marycrest is $3,260, $3,640, or $4,180 per month, depending on the level of care provided. In an intake interview, Marycrest will determine the level of care required for the resident.
Types of Units: 300 square foot studios with private, large bathrooms and small kitchen areas (with microwaves and refrigerators). Heating and air conditioning are individually controlled in the units by the residents.

Ratio of Staff to Residents: In the Serenity building, from 6 am-10 pm, the ratio is 1 staff member to 15 residents; from 10 pm-6 am, the ratio is 1 staff member to 30 residents.
Meals and Dining Options: Three meals a day are served. There are six meal options for lunch and dinner, which are served “restaurant-style” in a community dining room. New Horizons meal options, which are healthy choices, are always available. Snacks and beverages are available 24/7.

On-Site Services: A hairdresser comes in weekly. Two GP doctors and a podiatrist also visit on a regular basis.
